Tenderly – Cookie Policy

Effective Date: 1st July 2025

Last Updated: 16th March 2026

1. Our Approach

Tenderly only uses browser storage that is strictly necessary for the platform to function correctly. We do not use cookies or any browser storage mechanism for advertising, analytics, or tracking your behaviour for marketing purposes. No third-party tracking or advertising cookies are placed on your device by us.

2. Cookies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by our server. We set the following cookies:

Cookie Purpose Duration
Session cookie Keeps you logged in during your visit. Without this cookie you would be required to log in on every page. Ends when you close your browser, or earlier if you log out
CSRF token Protects form submissions and API requests against cross-site request forgery attacks. Required for the security of the platform. Browser session

Both of these cookies are strictly necessary. They cannot be disabled without preventing the platform from working correctly.

3. Local Storage

In addition to cookies, we use your browser's local storage for the following purposes. Local storage data stays on your device and is not transmitted to our server or to any third party.

Item Purpose
Push notification endpoint Remembers that your push notification subscription has already been registered with our server, so we do not send a duplicate registration request on every page load.
Install banner dismissed (Android) Remembers that you have dismissed the "Install App" prompt, so we do not show it again.
Install banner dismissed (iOS) Remembers that you have dismissed the iOS installation instructions banner, so we do not show it again.
Messaging conversation cache Stores a local copy of your recent message conversations so the messaging interface loads instantly without waiting for the server on each page visit.
Messaging window state Remembers which chat windows are open or minimised, so the messaging panel is in the same state when you navigate between pages.

4. Service Worker Cache

When you visit Tenderly, your browser installs a service worker a small background script that helps the application load faster and supports the installed app (PWA) experience. The service worker caches the following of our own static files on your device:

The service worker cache only stores these technical assets. It does not cache your messages, account data, uploaded documents, or any personal information. The cached files are versioned (currently tenderly-v2) and are automatically replaced when we update the application. You can clear the service worker cache at any time by clearing your browser's site data for tenderly.im.

5. Push Notification Data

If you choose to enable push notifications, your browser generates a push subscription containing a push service endpoint URL and encryption keys. This is sent to our server and stored in our database so that we can deliver notifications to your device. This is not a cookie, but it is a form of persistent technical data associated with your browser and device.

You can revoke push notification permission at any time through your browser settings or device notification settings. When permission is revoked or the subscription can no longer be delivered to, our server automatically removes the stored subscription record.

6. Third-Party Scripts

Our pages load user interface resources (a stylesheet and an icon library) from third-party content delivery networks:

When your browser loads these resources, it makes a standard network request to those providers. These providers may log your IP address as part of normal server operation. We do not use these services for tracking purposes, and they are not provided with your account data.

Subscription payments are handled through Paddle, whose checkout and retain scripts load on subscription-related pages. Paddle operates its own cookies within its hosted checkout. Please refer to Paddle's privacy policy for details of the data Paddle processes.

7. Analytics and Advertising

We do not use any analytics services (such as Google Analytics) on this platform. We do not use any advertising networks or place advertising cookies on your device. No tracking pixels or fingerprinting scripts are used.

8. How to Manage or Remove Browser Storage

You can clear cookies and local storage at any time through your browser settings:

Please note that clearing your session cookie will log you out of the platform. Clearing local storage will reset your messaging cache and install banner preferences.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated. Continued use of the platform after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
